18-Year-Old Moroccan Inmate Found Dead in French Prison Near Lyon

The body of a young Moroccan was found lifeless by guards during the night from Friday to Saturday in his cell in a prison in France.
Barely 18 years old, he hanged himself in his cell at the Villefranche-sur-Saône penitentiary center, near Lyon, reports the newspaper Le Progrès. The guards and firefighters who arrived quickly on the scene were unable to revive the young man.
It was during a round that the death was noted around 1 a.m., indicates the spokesperson for the prison administration, adding that nothing suggested he was prone to suicidal tendencies.
An investigation has been opened by the justice system to try to determine the exact circumstances of the young Moroccan, whose this was the first incarceration.
