16-Year-Old Lamine Yamal Dazzles as Spain’s Youngest-Ever Scorer

The captain of the Spanish national team, Alvaro Morata, has lavished praise on the Moroccan-origin striker, Lamine Yamal, the youngest player and scorer for La Roja.
At just 16 years old, Lamine Yamal already has three caps for the national team. The young player has managed to establish himself and is now one of the key pieces in Luis de la Fuente’s system. The captain of La Roja is amazed by the talent of the Barcelona striker. "He’s 16 years old, but he looks 27-28 years old. He’s an incredible player. I congratulate all the coaches he’s had in his career. He’ll be good for the national team," said Álvaro Morata in a pre-match press conference against Georgia scheduled for this Sunday, November 19.
And he adds: "He’s less shy than he appears, he’s a big guy and a great player. He integrates easily into the group and makes jokes, we don’t need to be behind him for him to integrate." The Atlético de Madrid striker also wished for the coach to remain at the helm of the team, even after the 2024 Federation elections that he hopes will take place before the Euro. "We have to build a team. It’s difficult to work because we have very few days and a lot of matches. Anything that could maintain the block we’ve created would be very positive and it gives the players a lot of confidence," he said.
