Woman Sentenced in Tangier for Impersonating Moroccan Authority Figure

The court of first instance of Tangier sentenced a woman to six months in prison for repeatedly usurping the function of an authority agent (caïd).
The accused is a woman from civil society who had the idea of usurping the function of the authority agent, after watching videos paying tribute to women caïds in several cities in Morocco, reports Al Akhbar. The security services of the wilaya arrested her in November last year, following several complaints from merchants she had defrauded.
After her arrest, she was placed in custody, then referred to the public prosecutor’s office, which prosecuted her for fraud and usurpation of a function governed by law before placing her in pre-trial detention in the local prison. The surveillance cameras placed throughout the areas where she committed her misdeeds have incriminated her. The court of first instance of Tangier sentenced the fake caïd to six months in prison.
This civil society actress did not act alone. She has an accomplice who was posing as an auxiliary forces element. The latter has not yet been tried. In addition, the investigation continues to identify and arrest the tailor who made the accused the uniform of the authority agent.
