Woman Arrested for Fabricating Brutal Kidnapping to Cover Up Affair

This mother of three children had publicly recounted an ordeal of eight days at the hands of a criminal gang. She claimed to have been kidnapped near Témara, held captive, violently beaten, gang-raped, and deprived of water, all under the supervision of a veiled woman, before being abandoned in the Zaâtar forest in a critical condition.

The same judicial source specified that the thorough investigations, including the analysis of surveillance camera recordings, had shown that the woman had "invented the entire story out of fear that her affair would be discovered." It was emphasized that the public prosecutor’s office had "taken the matter very seriously" at the outset, treating the woman as a victim and providing her with all the necessary medical care and expertise before the falsehood of her account was established.

Following these findings, the person concerned has been placed under arrest. She is to be presented to the court of first instance this Monday, September 8, to answer the charges of adultery, slanderous denunciation, and allegation of an imaginary crime.
