Wolves Captain Romain Saïss Bids Farewell After Six-Year Stint, Sparks Transfer Speculation

After six years at Wolverhampton, the time has come for Romain Saïss to try other experiences. As a farewell, he posted an emotional message on social media.
The departure of the captain and central defender of the Atlas Lions was announced several months ago. His contract with Wolverhampton is coming to an end this summer. At 32, Romain Saïss could land in Saudi Arabia, Turkey or even Europe as he is coveted by many clubs including Sevilla FC. But for now, it’s time for goodbyes.
"My Wolves. The moment I dreaded the most has arrived... The moment to say goodbye to you after 6 wonderful years by your side. It was an honor and a privilege to wear these colors and contribute to the success and renewal of this club. I met exceptional people during these 6 years, always attentive to my family and me. Thank you to the fans for your support despite the ups and downs, you have always been behind me," he wrote on social media.
It was in August 2016 that Romain Saïss had joined Wolverhampton from SCO Angers for 4 million euros. With the English club, he had achieved promotion to the Premier League in 2018. His current market value is estimated at 9 million euros.
