Morocco Captain Romain Saïss Set to Join Turkey’s Besiktas After Wolverhampton Exit

After bidding farewell to Wolverhampton, Romain Saïss is about to have other professional experiences in Turkey. The central defender and captain of the Atlas Lions is expected to be officially presented by Besiktas, an Istanbul club, on June 17.
Moroccan international Romain Saïss and the Istanbul club are said to have reached an agreement allowing the player to defend the colors of Besiktas from next season onwards, according to CNN Turk, which points out that the amount of the transaction is already known, but that the two parties will wait until the end of the matches counting for the 2023 CAN qualifiers before formalizing the contract.
After six years spent in the Premier League, Romain Saïss has dribbled all the forecasts by opting for the Turkish Süper Lig. There were several offers on the table, and he was even announced close to a contract with Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, but he preferred Turkey, where Besiktas coach Valérien Ismaël, in search of a high-quality defender, has put forward convincing arguments to secure the services of the 32-year-old player.
