Winter Arrives in Morocco: Strong Winds and Snowfall Forecast for Multiple Provinces

Strong gusts of wind and snowfall will affect several Moroccan provinces on Monday and Tuesday, announced the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) on Sunday.
Strong gusts of wind (70/90 km/h) with local dust storms are expected on Monday in the provinces of Essaouira, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Guelmim, Assa-Zag, and Sidi-Ifni, the DGM said in an orange alert bulletin.
On Tuesday, the same provinces will also be affected, as well as those of Chichaoua, Tan-Tan, Guelmim, Boujdour, Laayoune, Es-Semara, Tarfaya, Errachidia and Figuig.
In addition, snowfall of more than 2,400 m altitude (10-25 cm) will be noted, from Monday at 6 pm to Tuesday at 10 am, in the provinces of Azilal, Midelt and Tinghir, the DGM points out.
