Wild Boar Invasion Sparks Fear in Moroccan Tourist Hotspot Essaouira

The inhabitants of Essaouira, a city recently named the best tourist destination in Morocco for the year 2023, live in fear and anguish due to the invasion of wild boars. Concerned about the issue, the parliamentary group of the Party of Progress and Socialism in the House of Representatives calls on the Ministry of the Interior to act in order to put an end once and for all to this phenomenon.
The inhabitants of Essaouira are once again counting on the wild boars. These animals roam the streets, threatening the lives of the inhabitants. They fear for their lives, those of their children and for their property. Faced with the invasion of wild boars, people concerned with local affairs call on the responsible authority to act urgently and take immediate measures before it is too late, and to prevent the future entry of these animals into the city. Among the measures, we can mention the construction of a protective barrier along the border between the forest and the city, to prevent the wild boars from penetrating the residential neighborhoods.
The issue reaches Parliament. In a written question addressed to the Minister of the Interior, the deputy of the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS), Malika Akhachkhouch, expressed the concerns of the population: "The citizens of Essaouira complain about the invasion of herds of wild boars in the streets and alleys of their city". She called on Abdelouafi Laftit to take urgent measures to deal with the herds of wild boars invading this city, recently crowned the best tourist destination in Morocco for 2023 during the Morocco Tourism Awards ceremony.
For the PPS elected official, "it is imperative that action be taken to guarantee the safety of our fellow citizens, protect the tourist identity of our city and preserve the tranquility of our streets".
