Strong Winds and Dust Storms to Hit Morocco as Cold Front Approaches

The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an alert bulletin concerning strong gusts of wind and dust storms expected on Thursday in several regions of the country.
This weather situation is linked to an atmospheric depression that will settle over the Iberian Peninsula as early as Wednesday, according to the DMN, which states that the phenomenon, caused by a mass of cold air from the upper layers of the atmosphere, will also bring precipitation in northern Morocco this Thursday and tomorrow, Friday.
The DGM forecasts wind gusts reaching 80 to 100 km/h on reliefs over 1,500 meters in altitude. These violent winds will particularly affect the provinces of Midelt, Azilal, Al Haouz, Chichaoua and Ouarzazate, from Thursday 5pm to Friday 11:50pm.
