Morocco Issues Weather Alert: Snow, Heavy Rain, and Strong Winds Expected

Snowfall, heavy rains sometimes thunderstorms and gusts of wind are expected on Friday and Saturday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) just announced in an orange level alert bulletin.
Thus, snowfall is expected on heights exceeding 1,800 m, from Friday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. to Saturday, March 1 at 6:00 a.m., in the provinces of Ifrane, Boulemane, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Midelt and Taroudant.
Heavy rains, sometimes thunderstorms and accompanied by gusts of wind, varying from 30 to 50 millimeters, will also affect, from Friday, February 28 at 6:00 a.m. to Saturday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m., the provinces of Safi, Essaouira, El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Berrechid, Settat, Casablanca, Nouaceur, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Taroudant, Nador, Al Hoceïma, Berkane and Oujda.
Likewise, strong gusts of wind with dust storms (70 to 95 km/h) are expected on Friday, February 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Midelt, Boulemane, Guercif and Tinghir.
