Wealthy Suspect in Fatal Casablanca Hit-and-Run Faces Trial for Teen’s Death
The case of young Badr, who was killed after being run over by the car of a "rich kid" in Casablanca, should soon come before the courts.
The brutal murder of young Badr, crushed by a car after being severely beaten in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant, caused an outcry in Morocco, particularly on social media, recalls Alyaoum24.
The main suspect, nicknamed the "spoiled brat" by Internet users, is not his first involvement in a murder case. In 2018, he had already been involved in the death of another young man, receiving only a fine. On appeal, his sentence was increased to one year of actual imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 dirhams, accompanied by a two-year suspension of his driver’s license.
The police investigation, conducted by the Anfa brigade, led to the arrest of five people suspected of being involved in the murder.
The suspects in this case are accused of murder, forming a criminal gang, aggravated theft, attempted murder and complicity.
