Wealthy Moroccans Flout COVID-19 Restrictions, Host Large Gatherings Despite Ban

Gatherings, parties with friends, engagements, weddings, baptisms, funerals... are normally prohibited by law, since the state of health emergency was instituted. A provision nevertheless violated by wealthy Moroccans.
In Bouskoura, the police surprised and put an end to a gathering, on the occasion of a ceremony organized by a well-known tea trader and a real estate developer, who decided to unite their children.
Likewise, a wealthy couple in Bouznika, having decided to celebrate the acquisition of a new villa, called on about fifty friends for the event. A guest, coughing, a symptom of Covid 19, infected ten other guests and a large part of the staff, specifies the same source.
About forty people were taken away by the police in Meknes, during a wedding organized in the villa of a wealthy banker, without even having started the party. There were also other cases in Tangier, Kenitra, the seaside town of Mehdia and in the deep Morocco, in the Azrou region. This anthology published by the daily Al Akhbar has indeed led to several arrests and interrogations.
