Violent Clash Erupts at Moroccan Popular Movement Youth Council Election

The election of the 24 members of the Political Bureau of the National Youth Council of the Popular Movement, on October 6th in Rabat, turned into a violent dispute, under the helpless gaze of the Secretary General of the Party, Mohand Laenser. He had to withdraw and alerted the law enforcement authorities.
Everything degenerated when a handful of people entered the room, staging a sit-in in front of the platform where Mohand Laenser was, reports TelQuel.
According to the same source, they denounced "the exclusion of young members from the Rif and the Sahara provinces", and shouted "the corruption of the party’s bodies".
The scenes of violence were filmed by the cameras of Rue20.com. As a result, the election of the 24 members of the Political Bureau was suspended.
At the origin of these clashes, the discord between the two currents of the party regarding "appointments to ministerial cabinets and public directorates, on the eve of the government reshuffle", indicate the sources of Hespress.
On the one hand, the Secretary General carries a political current. On the other hand, Mohamed Fadili and Lahcen Ait Ichou, members of the Political Bureau and, respectively, deputies of the communes of Driouech and Khénifra, are in charge.
