Violent Brawl Forces Ryanair Flight from Morocco to London to Divert

A Ryanair plane flying from Agadir to London was diverted to Marrakech after a fight broke out between several passengers.
Passengers experienced a turbulent flight. A Ryanair plane connecting Agadir-Massira, Morocco and London-Stansted, UK was the scene of a violent dispute between several passengers just minutes after takeoff. Some passengers described scenes of chaos, with punches being exchanged. The dispute started when a passenger, in his twenties, asked a female passenger to give up her seat so he could sit with his family. "As soon as the seatbelt sign went off, the situation exploded," said a passenger to the press. "It started with an argument, but then the situation escalated. People were shouting, children were crying, it was chaos." In videos posted on social media, passengers can be seen pushing each other in the aisle as the crew tried to maintain order.
The situation became uncontrollable. The pilot had to divert the plane to Marrakech. "The crew called for medical assistance and the police upon landing," explained a Ryanair spokesperson. "The individuals involved in the altercation were removed by local authorities, while the other passengers anxiously waited on board." The passengers’ unrest continued in the ochre city. They were accommodated and were supposed to take the rescheduled flight the next morning. But this flight was canceled. They finally arrived in London on Thursday evening.
Ryanair issued official apologies. The company attributed the disruption to a "small group of passengers." The company also assured that the safety and well-being of all passengers remains its absolute priority.
