Ryanair Flight Diverted: Disruptive Passengers and Medical Emergency Force Landing in Marrakech

A Ryanair plane operating the Agadir-London route on Wednesday, July 3 was diverted to Marrakech. The airline clarifies the reasons for this unexpected diversion.
"This flight from Agadir to London Stansted (July 3) was diverted to Marrakech when a small group of disruptive passengers became disruptive, and during this time another passenger became ill on board. The crew had requested medical and police assistance in advance, which met the aircraft on arrival in Marrakech," Ryanair said in a message sent to our editorial staff.
The company continues: "The small group of disruptive passengers were then removed from the aircraft by the airport gendarmerie. The sick passenger was given oxygen on board before being taken care of by the airport doctors, who determined that he was not fit to fly. This passenger refused to disembark, became aggressive towards the crew, and was then removed from the aircraft by the airport gendarmerie."
Subsequently, the Irish low-cost company had to take certain measures. "As it took almost 2 hours in total to deal with and disembark these disruptive passengers, during which time the remaining passengers remained on board, the crew had reached their authorized flight hours, and the flight had to be delayed until the next day," it explains. While waiting to take the flight the next day, Thursday, July 4, "the passengers concerned were accommodated and transported to/from the airport."
Ryanair "sincerely apologizes to passengers for this diversion and resulting delay, which was due to the disruptive passengers and was beyond the control" of the company.
