Urgent Call for Action: Fès-Taza Highway Deterioration Threatens Safety and Economic Growth

The state of the highway connecting Fès to Taza was the subject of an intervention in Parliament. Members of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) have officially asked the Minister of Equipment, Nizar Baraka, to take urgent action in the face of the deterioration of this axis, which they say represents a "real danger" for users.
During a plenary session at the Council of Advisors, the parliamentary group demanded that the Moroccan Motorway Company be mandated to undertake a thorough resurfacing of the roadway.
The advisors stressed that the issue was not just current. They based their request on the expected increase in traffic on this route, particularly due to the influx of vehicles and trucks to and from the West Mediterranean port.
More broadly, the RNI group placed this request in a more global context. It highlighted the paradox of the Taza province: although it constitutes a strategic crossroads between the East, West and North of the country, it continues to suffer from a "significant deficit in infrastructure and roads".
