The International University of Rabat (UIR) will be equipped with a university hospital on its campus. The project studies have been carried out and the oncology, hematology, cardiovascular, trauma, neurology, fields have been considered as priorities.
The hospital will have a capacity of 400 beds on a built-up area of 48,000 square meters, indicates a press release from the IUR, specifying that the site must cover all the disciplines necessary for the training requirements of medical and paramedical health professionals at different levels of expertise.
However, priorities have been identified in agreement with the Ministry of Health, in oncology (pediatric oncology, allografts and autografts), in traumatology, in cardiology, in neurosurgery, in urology and in advanced medical biology, the officials specify, adding that the medical project developed for the UIR University Hospital has highlighted strategic orientations taking into account several considerations.
The university hospital has been pre-sized to initially accommodate 150 patients per day in the emergency room, some 20,000 hospital stays per year and an outpatient surgery rate of 50% with just over 12,000 interventions per year.
The hospital infrastructure aims to "establish itself as a referral care structure in the region and a center for research and innovation in the university landscape of our country," the statement concludes.
