Morocco Breaks Ground on $450 Million State-of-the-Art University Hospital in Rabat

The construction of the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat has been entrusted to the company Bymaro, the Moroccan subsidiary of Bouygues Construction. The work should cost nearly 450 million euros and be completed in September 2025.
The Mohammed VI International University Hospital "will consist of four six-story buildings and a twenty-five-story tower. It will bring together leading healthcare and educational infrastructure on a total area of more than 275,000 m²," informs a press release.
The hospital will be equipped with 553 beds and 20 operating rooms. The project aims to "support regional and national health policies," it is specified, stressing that this hospital "aims to become a reference for Moroccan university hospitals of the future, whether in terms of architecture, quality of care or education." In total, the establishment will employ 3,500 employees (including subcontractors) at peak periods, the note indicates.
Bymaro will have to deliver the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat in September 2025. It is the third hospital project that the Moroccan subsidiary of Bouygues Construction has carried out over the past five years, after the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Bouskoura in 2019 and the Smart Health Care City in Benguerir, currently under construction.
