UNESCO Adds Morocco's Gnawa Music to Intangible Cultural Heritage List

Long desired by lovers of this rich musical culture, the inscription of Gnawa this Thursday in Bogota in the Unesco heritage is only justice. Ritual and initiatory music, Gnawa is indeed carried by the descendants of former slaves from sub-Saharan Africa.

A well-deserved honor for a music as rich as it is warm that allows millions of people around the world to perpetuate their tradition.
