Former Miss France Malika Ménard Welcomes First Child on Mother's Day

Journalist Malika Ménard, former Miss France, 37, and her husband, Belgian-Moroccan businessman Karim, 50, are now parents of a baby girl named Sherazade.

Malika Ménard chose this Sunday, Mother’s Day, to announce, through a video posted on her Instagram account, that she is now a mother. "In the video, the couple’s hands open like a flower revealing the tiny hand of their baby girl," reports Voici. "A Mother’s Day with a very special flavor, an unforgettable taste for me this year: the first as a mother," she writes in the caption. She revealed the child’s name: "My little girl, my great love, Sherazade ("princess" in Persian) gave me a few days ago this role that I dared not hope for, that I feared as much as it excited me. Thank you life for the emotions, for this love that rhymes with forever."

Malika is a mother for the first time. Her husband, the Belgian-Moroccan businessman, is a father for the seventh time. Little Sherazade therefore has older brothers and sisters. Much to the delight of Miss France 2010. "My husband’s tribe raises questions. It’s outside the current classic standards, such a large family. Of course, at first, I was apprehensive about integrating so many children into my life. I was afraid of not giving enough attention to each one. But if you knew them, everything would seem obvious to you. And in fact, I’m reassured to know that my child will come into the world with loving and caring older brothers and sisters," wrote the one who will celebrate her 38th birthday on July 14 in a previous post on Sunday, May 18.
