Former Miss France Malika Ménard Prepares Parisian Nursery for June Baby

Journalist Malika Ménard, former Miss France, 37, and her husband, Belgian-Moroccan businessman Karim, 50, are pulling out all the stops to welcome their first child.
"Karim and I are expecting a child. I’m entering my sixth month of pregnancy. The due date is early June," Malika Ménard confided in February to Gala magazine, from their apartment in Paris, located near the Champs-Élysées. At the end of April, she revealed that a little girl was growing inside her. On her Instagram account, she has just unveiled the outlines of the nest that will welcome this first child, a sublime apartment nestled in a Haussmann building in Paris. "The interior harmoniously blends the charm of the old – herringbone parquet flooring, delicate moldings, marble fireplace – with a pronounced taste for contemporary design," describes Purepeople.
Plump sofas, enveloping curves, a coffee table with sculptural legs, transparent armchairs, rounded lines and oval niches of the custom-made bookcase make up the charm of the apartment. The interior exudes elegance. "The walls are adorned with pastel wallpaper featuring small pink bow motifs. The quilted crib, topped with a canopy, perfectly matches the star and cloud-shaped cushions placed on a chaise longue. Next to it, a small pink shelf holds birth accessories," describes the same source. A floor lamp, decorated with a cloud mobile with suspended droplets, on which one can read "Shh, I’m dreaming" is also placed there.
Malika has chosen powdery colors with embroidered messages like "You are so loved". The soon-to-be first-time mother doesn’t hide her happiness. "Thank you for choosing me, my child, to be your home," she writes in the caption of a photo of herself published on Sunday, May 18. Her husband Karim is already a father of six children. The future "third inhabitant of the house," as Malika calls her, thus has older brothers and sisters. Something to delight Miss France 2010.
"My husband’s tribe raises questions. It’s outside the current classic standards, such a large family. Of course, at first, I was apprehensive about integrating so many children into my life. I was afraid of not giving enough attention to each one. But if you knew them, everything would seem obvious to you. And in fact, I’m reassured to know that my child will come into the world with loving and caring older brothers and sisters," adds the one who will celebrate her 38th birthday on July 14.
