Tunisia Sets Date for Lucrative Moroccan Date Export Season

"The launch date of the date export season to the Moroccan market will be set during the meeting to be held with industry professionals on Monday, October 20, 2025," said the interprofessional group of dates, under the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, in a statement.

The note recalls that the export season "generally starts towards the end of October, in consultation with the various stakeholders in the sector."

This decision was made following the meeting of the board of directors of the group, held on October 10, 2025. During this session, it was decided to start export operations "to all international markets except the Moroccan market" as part of the 2025/2026 season.

Morocco is one of the major importers of Tunisian dates. In the previous season, Tunisia exported more than 127,000 tons of dates, of which 18% went to Morocco, according to data from the Tunisian Observatory of Agriculture.
