Troyes Captain Adil Rami Confronts Angry Fans After Defeat to Nice

Insulted after his club’s defeat against OGC Nice (0-1) on the Troyes pitch on Sunday, Troyes captain Adil Rami was ready to confront certain supporters. He assures that he will never tolerate insults.
"Get out of here", "Leave the club", "You and the others (players) have sunk the club", "Go home"... Supporters verbally attacked Adil Rami as he was leaving the Aube stadium with his partner after the Estac Troyes/OGC Nice (0-1) match. Some supporters "who had traveled to OM-Troyes 15 days ago at the Vélodrome stadium complained that the Troyens did not come to greet them after the match on Sunday," reports L’Est Éclair. Exasperated, the captain assured that he was ready to confront them. The situation escalated: two supporters climbed a fence to find themselves face to face with Rami. The player again assured that he was ready to confront them, one by one. In the wake of this, security guards subdued the individuals. The Troyes captain then joined the players’ parking lot.
On Monday, Estac Troyes, in a press release, condemned all forms of violence. It should also discuss the matter with the parties concerned, Adil Rami and the representatives of the supporters’ groups. Its wish, it will say, is to "shed light on the facts and reserve the right to make decisions". For his part, the Troyes captain says, in an Instagram post, that he understands the disappointment of the supporters. (... Believe me, I am the first disappointed and frustrated. However, I will never tolerate the insults made to my loved ones or my teammates. That’s why I got carried away after the game, after being accosted by a few individuals. I shouldn’t have reacted that way. Until the end, I will give my maximum on the pitch. I have never cheated," he added.
