Treasure Hunters Nabbed Near Tangier Stadium in Illegal Excavation

The authorities arrested on Monday, February 12, two individuals involved in treasure hunting near the Grand Stadium of Tangier.
The arrest of these two individuals took place in the evening on Monday during a routine patrol as they were conducting a treasure hunt. These people in their forties explained to the law enforcement agents and the head of the eighth administrative annex that they were looking for a treasure located near the football stadium. A few months ago, they had managed to find another treasure in the city of Errachidia. Following this excavation, they had, they said, conducted research that allowed them to locate another treasure in the sports village.
On site, the authorities seized excavation machines. After their arrest, the two suspects were transferred to the judicial police for the further investigation opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
