Travelers Warned of Nighttime Road Safety Concerns in Northern Morocco

On the web, activists are calling on Moroccans to be vigilant when traveling on certain roads in northern Morocco.
Gangs are back on certain roads in northern Morocco. At least, this is what activists on social media have been saying in recent days. According to them, members of their families, relatives or acquaintances had been harassed at night by suspicious cars driven by criminals, and they are calling on Moroccans to be vigilant. The latest warning circulated on social media concerns a Moroccan expatriate (MRE) and his wife. While they were in a car registered in Spain, they were chased by two cars at night on the road near Bouyafar.
The owner of the car had stopped at a service station at night. As he continued his journey along the coastal road towards Bouyafar, he noticed two cars with a group of people inside pursuing him, refusing to overtake him despite his flashing lights, we learned. The two cars used their high beams to disrupt the visibility of the driver they were tracking. This is how the MRE realized that he was in the middle of a criminal gang and took the risk of turning around to protect himself. Apparently, the gang was trying to pursue him to a dark area away from populated places. He and his wife were able to escape. But the competent authorities have not received any complaint about this case or reported any danger in this region, according to the Nadorcity website.
