Train Derails Near Casablanca: No Injuries Reported in Moroccan Rail Incident

A train connecting Marrakech to Casablanca left the tracks around noon on Tuesday, October 15, near the Bouskoura station, a year after the terrible accident in Bouknadel on October 16, 2018, which had left 7 dead and nearly 125 injured. A suicide attempt would be the cause of the tragedy.
Around 12:30 pm, a train on the Marrakech-Casablanca line derailed near Bouskoura, without causing any damage. ONCF, in a press release, reports no human casualties or injuries among the passengers.
"On October 15, 2019 around 12:20 pm, train Al Atlas No. 610 connecting Marrakech to Casablanca left the tracks near the Bouskoura station (Berrechid side). This accident did not cause any injuries, and the ONCF teams immediately went to the scene to take care of the passengers and take them to their destinations," the statement said.
According to Akhbarona, the derailment of the train would be due to a suicide attempt, but the information has not yet been confirmed by ONCF, which promises to provide "more details as soon as traffic is restored on this line".
