Fire Erupts on Marrakech-Tangier Train, Passengers Safely Evacuated

An unusual situation at ONCF. The train serving the Marrakech-Tangier route was forced to make an unexpected stop on Sunday around 11:40 pm, a few minutes after leaving the Oasis station, following the outbreak of a fire in the toilets of a car.
According to the press release from the National Railway Office (ONCF), which provided details on the incident, no injuries were reported among the passengers. Evacuated from the train, they were taken care of and continued their journey on another train made available to them.
The Office reported that teams were dispatched to the scene and that the fire was brought under control 20 minutes after it broke out, thanks to the Office’s resources and the intervention of firefighters. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, according to the same press release.
