Tragic Self-Immolation in Casablanca After Romantic Rejection

A young man in his twenties died this week from self-immolation after a romantic disappointment.
The incident occurred earlier this week in the Attacharouk neighborhood of Casablanca. The young man could not bear being rejected by a young woman to whom he had just declared his love.
Unable to cope with this rejection, he decided to douse himself with gasoline before setting himself on fire. The attempts of passersby failed to reduce the intensity of the fire, which resulted in third-degree burns.
Admitted to the burn unit at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center, the victim unfortunately succumbed the next day, despite the efforts of the medical staff.
According to Casapress, the young man had sent a sad message to his parents, begging them to forgive his gesture.
