Tragic Drowning Claims Four Lives at Moroccan Farm’s Water Basin

Four people, including two brothers and their mother, lost their lives by drowning in a water basin on an agricultural farm located in the Chtouka Ait Baha region.
The accident occurred on Saturday evening. Four children enter an agricultural farm with a water basin used for collecting irrigation water. The first child falls into the basin. The second child tries to save him, but he also slips and drowns. The third tries to rescue them, but he also loses his life. Immediately afterwards, their fourth companion rushes to the victims’ home to alert their mother. She arrives on the scene and tries to save these children. She in turn falls and drowns due to the depth of the basin and its sloping walls.
The local authorities, the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie and the Civil Protection services were informed and arrived at the scene of the tragedy. A thorough investigation has been opened, under the instructions of the competent prosecutor’s office, to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. As for the bodies of the victims, they were transported to the morgue.
