Tragic Drowning in Morocco: Brothers Swept Away in Moulouya Wadi Swimming Accident

Drama in the commune of Mibladen, province of Midelt. Two brothers aged 17 and 11 drowned on Sunday in the Moulouya wadi while trying to enjoy a swim.

The two victims, along with a third minor, decided during a recreational outing to swim in the watercourse. Unfortunately, they were swept away by the current, which prompted the third minor to call for help from the inhabitants of the douar. The latter then alerted the local authorities, who quickly arrived at the scene, accompanied by the auxiliary forces and civil protection elements.
The rescue services managed to recover the bodies of the two minors who died by drowning. Their remains were transferred to the morgue of the provincial hospital of Midelt for the purposes of the autopsy. Under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, the Royal Gendarmerie opened an investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of this incident.
