Tragedy in Morocco: Two Young Brothers Drown in Wastewater Current in Taounate

Aged 6 and 13, two brothers were swept away by a current of wastewater, plunging the town of Taounate into mourning.
Located in northern Morocco, the tranquility of the small commune of Tissa in Taounate has been severely tested following the drowning deaths of two brothers aged 6 and 13. The two children were playing ball near the mouth of a wastewater current when they disappeared. According to Alyaoum24, one of the boys would have tried to rescue his brother, but they would both have been swept away by the current.
Alerted, the local authorities, the gendarmerie elements, and the civil protection went to the scene to supervise the recovery operation of the bodies of the two children, transferred to the Al Ghassani hospital in Fès. Pending the results of the investigation opened to determine the circumstances of this tragedy, an autopsy of the victims’ bodies was ordered.
