Tragic Dive Claims Young Footballer’s Life: Moroccan Prodigy Dies Hours Before Tournament

Jawad El Allam, a minor Moroccan footballer and member of the Lorca Deportiva youth academy, has died after drowning in San Juan de los Terreros, Andalusia. The accident occurred just a few hours before a tournament he was supposed to participate in with his team.
The young man was with several of his under-age teammates. The group was between the beaches of Mar Serena and Mar Rabiosa. It was at this location that Jawad El Allam jumped into the water from the "El Pichirichi" rock, a place frequently used by young people to make jumps into the sea, an apparently safe practice. After his dive, he remained submerged for several minutes. The resuscitation attempts carried out by the medical personnel dispatched to the scene were unable to save him.
As a direct consequence of this event, the municipality of Pulpí has decided to cancel the under-age football tournament that was scheduled for the afternoon. The town hall has also published an official message of condolences addressed to the victim’s loved ones.
"From the town hall of Pulpí, we wish to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the minor who died today on the beaches of San Juan de los Terreros. We share the deep pain caused by this irreparable loss and wish to express our full support and solidarity in these very difficult times. As a sign of respect and solidarity, the town hall has decided to cancel the under-age football tournament he was supposed to participate in with his team, scheduled for this afternoon. We thank all the participants and residents for their understanding and reiterate our condolences," the institution communicated on social media.
