Tragic Death of Moroccan Toddler in Spain Sparks Repatriation Fundraiser

A neighbor, a nursing student, unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate the Moroccan child before the emergency services arrived. The 16-month-old baby choked on a nut. The town council of Soses (Lleida) has launched a fundraising campaign to repatriate his body to Morocco, reports Europa Press.

"It’s very sad, I was present when the child left us. The parents who live near the town hall came out into the street and expressed their cries of despair," said Sandra Marco, the mayor of the town, on Wednesday.
