Morocco to Repatriate Body of Young Boxing Coach Who Died in Spain

The body of the Moroccan Salah Eddine, a young boxing coach who died last Monday at the La Cristalería sports hall in Lleida, will be repatriated to Morocco. The costs of transferring the remains will be fully covered by the Moroccan government.
Sources from the Moroccan consulate, which received confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, indicate that the repatriation of Salah Eddine’s body will take place next Tuesday, reports SEGRE. The association of Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) had launched a fundraising campaign to repatriate the body of the Moroccan and needed 3,000 euros. This money will be returned to the young man’s family, assured Abderrafie Ettalydy, the president of the association.

The coffin containing Salah’s remains was displayed on Friday to receive a final tribute from the Moroccan community in Lleida. Salah Edden arrived in Lleida three years ago as a minor. He lived in a migrant center and later joined the La Cristalería sports hall, a sports space reserved for people in vulnerable situations.
