Family Seeks Funds to Repatriate Moroccan Woman’s Body from Spain

The relatives of Hanane, the 35-year-old Moroccan woman found dead in Cieza (Murcia), are asking for help to repatriate her body to Morocco where she will be buried.
Hanane’s family and friends would need around 2,400 euros to repatriate her body to Morocco, specifically to the city of Bejaad. They are soliciting financial contributions from the inhabitants of the city and any person of goodwill to obtain this amount in order to return to Morocco with the remains of their daughter to bury her with dignity, reports La Opinion de Murcia.
Hanane’s lifeless body was found on Saturday in a well. Her ex-partner, a 40-year-old Moroccan, presumed author of the murder, was arrested on Thursday by the Civil Guard. On Sunday, he was made available to the first instance judge of Cieza who ordered his provisional detention for an offense of homicide and violation of the restraining order and ban on communicating with the victim.
Hanane had filed several complaints against her ex-partner for alleged mistreatment, the last of which was about five months ago. The Moroccan woman is the first victim of a presumed case of gender-based violence this year in the Murcia region, the government delegate, Francisco Jiménez, said on Monday. An autopsy will be performed on Hanane’s body to determine the exact cause of death.
