Tragedy at Sea: 7 Moroccan Migrants Found Dead on Beach Near Mohammedia

A real tragedy is shaking several Moroccan families. The sea has washed up the bodies of 7 young Moroccans, including 1 woman, on the beach of Aïn Harrouda on Saturday, September 28.
According to a statement from the local authorities, these are candidates for illegal immigration who tried to reach the Iberian peninsula, after taking to the sea, aboard an inflatable boat from the coastal region of Mohammedia.
In addition to the 7 lifeless bodies, 3 other people were found unconscious on the beach and were taken to the Mohammedia Regional Hospital, where they received the necessary assistance, the statement said.
In order to shed light on all the aspects of this tragedy, the competent authorities, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances in which this attempt at illegal immigration was organized, the same source points out.
It should be noted that the recent strengthening of security control in northern Morocco, particularly on the Mediterranean coast, is forcing mafia networks to review their strategies and turn to the Atlantic.
