Tragedy at Sea: Eight Migrant Bodies Wash Ashore in Southern Morocco

The lifeless bodies of eight migrants have been found by local authorities on the coast of Tarfaya, in southern Morocco.
According to the local authorities of the Tarfaya region, these irregular immigration candidates traveled on board an inflatable boat that ran aground on the coastal strip of the commune of Akhfennir at the mouth of Lake Naila, in the Atlantic Ocean.
The authorities therefore decided to comb the area in search of possible survivors, but only the migrant bodies were recovered, a statement said, noting that 18 other migrants were arrested. They would mostly be Sub-Saharan.
Pending the results of the investigation opened by the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie, the eight bodies have been transferred to the morgue of the regional hospital in Laayoune.
