Culinary Controversy Erupts: Moroccan "Tanjia" Dish Claimed as Algerian, Sparking Online Outrage

A video posted on social media, showing a server in an Algerian restaurant presenting the "Tanjia" dish as an Algerian specialty, has sparked a lively online controversy in Morocco.
This dish, emblematic of the cuisine of Marrakech, is described as originating from the city of Béjaïa, without any mention of its Moroccan roots.
The sequence in question shows a server explaining the composition of the dish to foreign tourists. At no point is there any reference to the city of Marrakech, considered the historical and cultural birthplace of the Tanjia.
The dissemination of this video has provoked many reactions, particularly from Moroccan internet users. Many see it as a "blatant cultural plunder." Other comments suggest that it could be a lack of knowledge of the origins of the dish, or a commercial strategy aimed at attracting customers with an internationally renowned recipe, regardless of its geographical heritage.
