Death Toll Rises to 15 in Moroccan Migrant Boat Tragedy Near Casablanca

Rescue workers were able to recover, on Wednesday, October 2, two new bodies on the beach of Ennahla, in Zénata, near Casablanca, after the sinking of a boat carrying more than 50 migrants to Spain. This new discovery brings the provisional death toll of the tragedy to 15 dead.
In total, two new bodies were found, according to official sources. Thus, the provisional toll of the Zénata tragedy stands at 15 dead, including a 20-year-old woman.
An inflatable boat (a Zodiac) carrying some 56 illegal immigration candidates capsized at sea on Saturday, September 28. The same sources indicate that the migrants were mostly from Kelaât Sraghna.
The police had recovered, on the day of the tragedy, 7 bodies, including that of a 20-year-old woman. Two days later, the Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection services found 5 bodies on the beach of Ennahla, in Zénata, near Casablanca.
