Tourists Outraged by Crumbling Road to Morocco’s Agafay Desert Attraction

A group of foreign tourists visiting the Agafay region on Sunday expressed their dismay at the dilapidated state of the road leading to this tourist area.
The tourists were so disappointed by the disastrous state of this road that they asked the bus driver who was transporting them to turn back. But the guide accompanying them managed to dissuade them, reports Kech24. For these foreign tourists, the catastrophic state of this road undermines the reputation and tourist value of the Agafay region.
The same media had reported that the road in question will be rehabilitated over a length of 10 kilometers, and equipped with a public lighting system. The work is expected to cost 28 million dirhams. The authorities of the Marrakech-Safi region are invited to install signs on the road to announce the imminent start of this work.
With its natural and tourist assets, the Agafay desert attracts thousands of visitors each year. The region is one of the favorite places of stars who come to celebrate weddings, birthdays and other special events.
