Tourist Targeted in Marrakech Robbery; Suspect Arrested

A person with a criminal record was arrested last Friday by the security services of the ochre city. The individual is accused of snatching, with a foreign tourist as the target.
It all started with a report received by the security services of the Marrakech police prefecture, about a case of snatching from a foreign tourist committed last Friday, near her place of residence in a hotel unit in Gueliz.
Immediately, an investigation was opened by the police who carried out sweeping operations, while exploiting precise information on the suspect. These operations led, according to a security source, to the arrest of a "man in his twenties in the Massira 3 neighborhood".
Following the preliminary investigation, it was established that the individual in question is "a person with a criminal record in theft," the same source said. This was followed by a "legal search conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, which resulted in the seizure of several items from the theft in the defendant’s car".
Thereupon, the suspect was placed in custody for the needs of the investigation, which is continuing in order to arrest any possible accomplices in the same case.
