Toulouse FC’s Aboukhlal to Sue RMC for Defamation Over Alleged Altercation Report

Moroccan international Zakaria Aboukhlal has decided to file a defamation lawsuit against RMC, for its article on the alleged altercation between the Toulouse player and Laurence Arribagé, the deputy mayor of Toulouse.
Things are settling down for Zakaria Aboukhlal. On Thursday, he was in training and will be available for the trip to Nice this Sunday (3pm), reports L’Équipe. Toulouse FC has decided to lift the player’s suspension. "Following our internal investigation and the many discussions that resulted from it, a meeting between Ms. Laurence Arribagé and our player Zakaria Aboukhlal took place in the presence of the club’s management. Following this meeting, we concluded that the facts reported by RMC Sport did not really reflect what happened on April 30 at the Capitole," the Toulouse club wrote in a message released in the afternoon on Thursday.
Aboukhlal and the elected official are thus turning this page, but the Atlas Lion intends to take legal action against RMC. He will therefore file a defamation complaint against the media "to restore his personal and professional image," tarnished by RMC Sport.
