Total Unveils 1,000th Solar-Powered Gas Station in Marrakech, Expanding Green Initiative

The Total Group has inaugurated its 1,000th service station equipped with solar panels in Marrakech. The oil giant aims to eventually put into service 5,000 stations running on solar energy.
And a thousand for Total! In November 2016, when the group set itself the challenge of reaching the commissioning of a thousand ecological service stations, no one expected this challenge to be met so quickly.
Two years later, the objective has been achieved and the ochre city is the one that benefits from this oil infrastructure. This initiative was decided by Total in order to limit CO2 emissions and reduce its electricity bill.
In a press release reported by Le Figaro, the group indicates that this thousandth station represents a "symbolic step" in its global deployment: "This deployment in 57 countries will intensify in the coming months to reach a pace of about 1,000 stations per year."
