Since May 14, the desalination plant of Chtouka Aït Baha has been undergoing tests that will last three months. Its commissioning is scheduled for the end of October 2021.
It is a satisfaction for the work team that from the 1st day of the tests they were able to produce drinking water. Thus, the desalination plant, in its final phase, will be commissioned in October 2021.
The commissioning of this plant was scheduled for April 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic prevented its start-up at that date. Once commissioned, this desalination plant will not only provide drinking water to the city of Agadir but also irrigation to part of the Chtouka Aït Baha region.
