Three Arrested in Highway Robbery Scheme on Moroccan Tetouan-Mohammedia Route

The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Bouznika proceeded, on Thursday, January 30, 2020, to the arrest of three individuals, including a woman, specialized in the aggression of users on the Tetouan-Mohammedia highway section. They were referred to the prosecutor of the king near the court of appeal of Casablanca.
Constitution of a criminal gang, kidnapping, sequestration and armed robbery. These are the charges brought against the accused. Their arrest follows numerous complaints from victims. The strategy of these individuals is to pick up hitchhikers on the highway, reports Al Akhbar.
Two of them travel in a vehicle on the highway section. One is at the wheel with a woman who would be his mistress. They pick up hitchhikers in their vehicle which stops at a rest area. It is at this precise moment that the third accomplice, a man with a long criminal record, intervenes to rob them. Those who showed resistance were all assaulted, specifies the same source.
After their arrest on January 27 in Bouznika, the accused were placed in custody. Summoned to the Royal Gendarmerie, many of their victims recognized them. On the orders of the prosecutor of the king near the court of appeal of Casablanca, the three accused were placed in pre-trial detention in the Oukacha prison. Their trial will open in the very near future.
