The United States opens an AI careers training hub in Casablanca

The project appears in a call for tenders launched on September 4 by the United States Consulate General in Casablanca. Washington is seeking a service provider to design and operate an “AI Literacy and Innovation Hub” at Dar America.

According to the consultation documents, reported by HigherGov, the program is intended to highlight American expertise in artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, innovation, and emerging technologies.

It is part of the new American diplomatic facility in Casablanca. Dar America recently joined the new American consular complex built in Casa Finance City.

The future service provider will have to recruit between 60 and 80 people interested in artificial intelligence or related fields. The program must be accessible to participants with different technical skill levels.

The initiative provides for 30 structured training sessions, each lasting at least two hours. Qualified instructors will have to conduct the courses, with experience in the relevant fields and the ability to teach in English, Arabic, or French.

The educational content and training materials will have to be prepared by the service provider and then submitted to the U.S. Mission in Morocco for approval.

American experts, projects, and Demo Day

The training sessions are only one part of the program. Washington also plans four in-person meetings with American experts based in Morocco or their representatives.

Four other sessions will focus on project development. Two networking events are intended to enable participants to establish professional contacts, before a public Demo Day at which the projects developed may be presented.

The service provider will also have to handle participant recruitment, communications, photography, program monitoring, activity reports, and logistical organization.

The contract is to run for one year from the date it is awarded, and the activities are planned to take place at Dar America in Casablanca. Interested companies have until September 19 to submit their proposal to the U.S. consulate.

This initiative comes as technological cooperation between Morocco and the United States expands into several fields related to artificial intelligence. During African Lion 2026, American artificial intelligence tools had already been tested in Morocco, but in a military setting. This time, the Casablanca project focuses on civilian training and innovation.
