Témara Real Estate Scandal Widens: Inspectors Target Multiple Municipalities

After the real estate scandal in Témara, inspection missions are being sent to all the premises of the municipality and the surrounding regions. All the people involved in urban planning management and who are at the origin of the irregularities in the projects are targeted.
According to the newspaper Al Akhbar, commissions from the General Inspectorate of Territorial Administration (IGAT) have been sent to the offices of municipalities such as Harhoura, El Menzah and Mers El Kheir, to thoroughly examine all the documents related to the projects launched by the real estate developer at the origin of this scandal.
This initiative is indeed based on the revelations of the latter, who claims to be the victim of bureaucratic blockages. Denunciations that the ongoing inspection seems to confirm. The investigators from the Ministry of the Interior would have already noted several contradictions in the statements of the various stakeholders and would even have identified a certain number of blockages at an intermediate level, between the municipality and the prefecture.
It should be recalled that the inspection missions are taking place in parallel with the investigation conducted by the judicial police under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office near the Court of Appeal of Rabat. The investigators will, in turn, hear all the stakeholders, including the beneficiaries of the housing.
