Teen Suspect Confesses to Killing Tangier Student, Claims Self-Defense Against Rape Attempt

The minor daughter, the alleged murderer of Anouar, the 20-year-old student found dead in his apartment in the Mesnana district of Tangier, has admitted to killing the young man. However, she claims to have done so to escape an attempted rape.

The investigation opened for "voluntary homicide, theft and concealment of crime" and for "participation in theft and concealment of elements related to the crime" following the arrest of the 17-year-old girl, suspected of assault and battery with a bladed weapon resulting in the death of Anouar Othmani and her alleged accomplice, a member of his family, is progressing. At the request of the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Tangier, the hearing of the alleged murderer took place before three deputy prosecutors, reports the website Goud.ma. During the hearings, the accused confessed.

She recounted having been led by the 20-year-old student into the kitchen. The latter would have proceeded to touch her intimate parts before attempting to rape her. Still according to her statements, she tried to escape this alleged rape by inflicting blows on different parts of Anouar’s body with a bladed weapon, before informing her uncle, who lives in Martil. The latter is also suspected of failing to report a crime and concealing the weapon of the crime.

Defending the accused, her lawyer claimed that his client has suffered from a mental and psychological disorder since 2020 and presented a medical certificate.
