Police Identify Suspect in Tangier Student Murder Investigation

The investigation into the young student found dead in early November at his home in Tangier is ongoing. The main suspect has been identified. Here’s how.
At the beginning of the investigation, the police officers in charge of the case began by identifying the victim’s relatives and friends who were in the habit of visiting him. They then questioned the building’s concierges and asked to view the surveillance camera footage of the building, which turned out to be out of order, reports Al Akhbar, stating that all these attempts by the investigators proved unsuccessful.
The agents then decided to analyze the list of phone calls received by the young student on the day of the murder, after noting the disappearance, in his apartment, of his phone and computer. This is how they discovered that the victim had received an anonymous call on WhatsApp before his death. This lead took them to a cafe server living in the city of Martil who, when questioned, denied any connection to the case, later identifying the main suspect, a 17-year-old girl, on the anonymous number’s profile picture.
The investigators arrested the young girl, who confessed to the murder after being interrogated. She would have met the student on social networks and the latter had decided to meet her physically, giving her an appointment in his apartment. According to the version of the accused, the young man would have tried to abuse her while they were preparing lunch together. That’s when she would have stabbed him with a knife to defend herself, before fleeing, taking the victim’s phone and computer with her.
The server, close to the accused, then went to the apartment to make the murder weapon disappear, which was eventually found after the confession. The investigation continues to shed light on this murder.
