Teen Dies in Controversial Police Chase in Brussels, Sparking Investigation

Adil, 19, died during a chase on Friday. His scooter would have hit a police car, while witnesses say it was the police car that hit him.
Starting from the Rue du Docteur de Meersman, not far from Clemenceau, the chase tragically ended at the level of the Quai de l’Industrie, in Anderlecht, reports Bruxelles News.
According to the facts, the elements of the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) chased Adil. Subsequently, he would have been hit by a police patrol. Seriously injured, he succumbed a few hours later. The accident occurred with a patrol from the VIRTUS koban.
"A judicial investigation has been opened and is ongoing. The internal control of the Midi Brussels police zone has been seized. In addition, the Victim Assistance Office is also mobilized for the family," says Fabrice Cumps, mayor of Anderlecht.
